This custom walnut bar top table is a study in contrast—warm, richly figured walnut paired with a striking ribbon of deep blue epoxy that follows the natural edge of the slab. Rather than concealing the wood’s imperfections and character, the design embraces them, allowing the walnut’s dramatic grain, movement, and natural figure to take center stage.

The tabletop was meticulously crafted to showcase the unique character of the slab, with the blue epoxy flowing through the live edge like a narrow stream of water. The result is a refined, contemporary piece that still feels deeply connected to the natural material.

The custom-built base adds another layer of craftsmanship. Clean, substantial lines and carefully shaped joinery give the table a strong architectural presence while maintaining a visual lightness beneath the substantial walnut top. Every detail—from the proportions of the base to the precise finish work—was considered to complement rather than compete with the beauty of the wood.
